President Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for attempting to change the direction of diplomacy. According to the New York Times:

The U.S. president Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize
“for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international
diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” the Nobel
Foundation said in Sweden on Friday

The President says he is humbled.

    Actually, I don’t see how there’s anything wrong with questioning why Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize so early in his tenure. Come on – the nomination deadline was February 1. If that’s unpatriotic – that’s sure a stretch. Many people are questioning it – and even the most favorable press at least mentions the odd timing. It was definitely an unconventional thing to do – to give the award to him at this point – no one can dispute that.
