Happy New Year.  As promised, we plan on keeping an open thread within reach at all times.  Sometimes the contributors want to talk about things we don’t post.  Here’s your chance.

Wishing everyone a safe New Years’ Eve and a prosperous New Year!  See you in 2010.  Can you all believe we are entering the 2nd decade of the 21st century?  Hard to believe.

  1. Elena

I agree wholeheartedly with your Kudos to M-H. Moon-Howler has been the sole reason this blog has evolved into a broad range of discussion!

I enjoy your thoughtful contributions, although I have this sneaking suspicion I may be one of those you are polar opposite to, you have always been respectful.

  2. Wolverine is right…MH you are the best!

And yes, it seems many of us have calmed down since the 2007 nightmare. I know I have. I still have my days, but…

  3. You nailed it, Wolverine. Way to go, Moon. Love the quote, Poor Richard – I’m visiting neighbors at an open house today. I’m spreading peace and Toll House cookies.

  4. A PW County Resident

I echo what Wolverine said, Wolfie. We may not have started off the best, but I think we know where each other stands and without yelling too much.

And Slowpoke, I remember what I was told when we were expecting #2–“One is like none, 2 is like 10.”

I wonder how you will like losing a degree of accountability in your house–with one, you know who did it–with 2, you are never quite sure. We always wanted two but being the overachiever that I am, we ended with 3.

  5. Yea, Rez, I would say we both know where we stand. I think we had a little baptism by fire but we overcame it.

And thanks to everyone for the kind words. I think it speaks to our best that there can be so many different opinions, many diametric opposites, yet most of the time we can all get along. I learn from those whose opinions differ from mine.

I will probably always be a moderate but that is only because one thing balances out another.

As for kids…Rez is right–on all counts.

You deserve every kind word that comes your way, plus many more! Happy New Year!

  7. Did you all see the HUGE full moon out there Sat night?
