Only Fox aired it….? WTF?

Fox News loves to tout that it was the only news(sic) station to air certain events. According to Glenn Beck, Fox News was the only station to show Israeli commandos being clubbed on the flotilla. Jon Stewart takes him to task. It seems that many other stations showed the identical footage. Will Beck apologize? Will his wife call him out over this ‘non-truth?’

Fox News has developed a reputation for being foot loose and fancy free with the truth. This anything goes with accuracy of facts is hurting their reputation and making them very much the laughing stock. It is one thing to take an alternative opinion, but that news organization needs to tell the truth, then take issue.

Oh man, you crack me up some times Moon. I suppose MSLSD or the Huff ‘n Puff Post are where we should be getting ‘real’ news huh? If Fox is such a laughing stock then why do they have such better ratings than any other news channel?
You know who is a ‘laughing stock’ when it comes to news? Try MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CNN…. more people watch the Cartoon Network than MSNBC and CNN combined. Now that’s funny!
Ok, you can be embarrassed for us by Beck and then we can discuss the merits. In the meantime we are embarassed for you for Shultz and Olberman and Madcow for Katie and and Adrianna and – well the list is just much langer. These folks are in the tank for Obama and have been for some time. Besides, if O’Reilly and Beck together have an audeience larger than all the others combined – doesn’t that say more about the common sense of the American people – maybe you have lost your way.
This is what happens when one confuses a talk show pundit and News. Just because the network name contains the word News does not mean that they are all news programs.

I am not sure what either hello or TP are talking about. It appears that they are going to watch the news that their little buddies at Fox tell them is the most popular show.
I would say that the people who watch a variety of different news shows are the best informed. Of course, getting the news channeled to one according to the flavor they like might be like going to one of those oxygen bars…….

My point was that if they were “being foot loose and fancy free with the truth” and were such “the laughing stock” you claim then why are so many people watching them? What does that say about that other ‘news’ channels?

So, I just don’t get it, according to you they are a bunch of liars and a laughing stock…. yet more people watch FNC than all other combined. Odd, I suppose people just love being lied to?
It says nothing about the other stations, hello. It was a remark about Fox.
If criticism is given to Fox, why do you always deflect to some other station?
Why do so many people watch Fox? I have no idea. I know why I watch it sometimes. I can only speak for myself. It would be rather hard to call them out as liars if I never watched them. And Hello, everyone on Fox isn’t all bad 100% of the time.
Additionally, do you watch them because they say more people watch them? That should concern you. The people I knew who are huge fox fans will tell you that they never watch anything else. What does that tell you about their exposure to comparison? It is very limited.

The fact that more people might be watching fox doesn’t mean that it isn’t a laughing stock or that more specifically, Glenn Beck isn’t a laughing stock.
Fox News mixes in way too much opinion to be seen as neutral news.
I watch all sorts of things Moon, not just FNC. For example, I love watching Olbermann make a jack-ass out of himself. It’s great entertainment!
However, you seem to only bag on Fox while using MSNBC and Huffingtion Post as your ‘sources’ in some of your posts. Why is that? MSNBC is a joke, I watch it from time to time for it’s comedic value. It’s somewhat of a ‘Daily Show’ comedy 24/7.
You claim that the best way to be ‘informed’ is to get your news from a variety of sources. And I totally agree with that. But at the same time you refuse to acknowledge any article from any of the ‘Breitbart’ sites and just bash Fox constantly.
I have a hunch that you watch FNC every day at 5 PM because you secretly have crush on the host.
The truth is hard to hear when you don’t like the straight truth of it. Its also hard to hear when it is not echoing in your head. I think that is why the media is so frustrated that they are not in control like they used to be. What was that line from LBJ, If we have lost Cronkite, we have lost the war. At least in those days they tried to be journalists.
My other reaction would be to check the timing of the argument. When Beck said it and when the other media went opps maybe we should show that clip.

Hello, did you mean ‘rag’ on fox? I will continue to rag on fox as long as they claim to be fair and balanced and aren’t. That’s a promise. And you are free to watch what ever shows you want. I don’t know who Breitbart is. If it is an agenda driven ‘news’ show you lose your credibility.

The networks have news? I get my news from the web.
TV has news also. There is no more junk on tv than on the web.
But I can skip the commercials and get links to the source on the web.
Fox was the only one airing the tape from the Israelis. The other networks were airing only the tape from the flotilla side.
Then again, if this is the only thing being mentioned after two hours were given to this topic, apparently Beck was accurate in his information and opinion about the causes and connections, and motivations of the “peace” flotilla members.
