Perception is someone's reality
Perception is someone's reality

Happy Fathers Day to all you dads out there.  My husband, the Grand Pubah of the Howler family, says it takes 30 seconds to be  a father but a dad is for a life time.  Anyone can be a father, it takes a lot of work to be a dad.  Today, to  all the men who have been dads to someone, may you have a wonderful day.

Many of you out there have taken the time to be a dad to someone.  Coaches, neighbors, teachers, police officers, co-workers, grandfathers,  stepfathers, casual acquaintances, etc., have  served as dads to someone.  Maybe it wasn’t even a child.  Perhaps you were a dad to an adult, or someone who had recently lost a dad.   Know that you touched someone’s life and without you there would be some vacuum in that person’s life.

If you can, let that person know how special they were to you, even if its a phone call.  Maybe they never knew.  Don’t wait until you no longer have the opportunity.

Now hit those BBQ grills and have the time of your life.

    >>> Perhaps you were a dad to an adult,….

Can’t wait for All Saints Day! This place outta be a riot! 😉

  2. Obviously you were a father and never a dad? @ ring

Sorry about the sarcasm but just because you are grown doesn’t mean you don’t still need a dad (or a mom). How many of us have taken a younger person under our wing at work? Additionally, some people have grown up without fathers. Many men have served as male role models for kids and adults who weren’t their actual offspring. Hats off to them.

Took my 2.5 year old to the pool all day, and we both had an absolute blast. My second boy is seven weeks away, and I suspect it’ll be even more fun. It was truly a wonderful father’s day. Being a dad is the coolest, most rewarding thing I’ve EVER done and I can’t even comprehend some of the things that happen in this world with some dads. To me, it’s a blast every day. God I hope I always feel that way 🙂

  4. You have lucky little boys, Captain. I am happy you had a wonderful day. I didn’t realize the little captain was almost here.

  5. Second-Alamo

Spent the whole day outside with the family and didn’t see the posts, but thanks for the acknowledgement, and I hope all Dads had an equally great day!

  6. It was mighty hot out there, SA, even in the shade. And you are more than welcome.

  7. Need to Know

After church yesterday, I was feeling a little sick so we stayed home. I watched movies with the kids, and they ate candy and gave me their father’s day gifts. All-in-all not a bad day. The little ones still think that we should go through the neighborhood again now to replenish their Halloween candy.

  8. It’s so good to see everyone celebrating dads today!

I am grateful to Mr. Pinko for loving and caring for our “pre-made” family. And I am grateful for the way his family “adopted” us all.

We all need parents and mentors, no matter how old we get. Otherwise, how do we know how to be parents to our older children or other children and adolescents in our lives?
