Welcome to Westgate–Welcome to the ‘hood! Don’t miss the Weiner Wagon!

August 27th, 2012

Thanks to Mistress Lafayette for the picture of the  latest Welcome to Westgate sign.  Who do you even call to report this trash?

No Corey, there are no problems over here.  None at all.  Car litter on Sudley Manor Drive is accumulating also.  It must be those using the ball fields and Splash Down.  Actually, it stops after you get through the 3 way stop where everyone in the West end of Manassas and Prince William cuts through to Lomond.

The “Welcome to Westgate” sign @ Strasburg and Loudoun

Corey needs to take note that we have our own weiner wagons here in Westgate and yes, there are hoarders in PWC.  Stay tuned.

    That’s a funny looking shovel.

  2. August 27th, 2012 at 09:59 | #2

    Yes, a two handled shovel even. Honestly, I didn’t know what it was, the art work was so bad. I had to ask Laf!

  3. August 27th, 2012 at 10:00 | #3

    Maybe Lafayette will get us the license number and we can SHAME them in to doing something about that truck.

  4. August 27th, 2012 at 10:01 | #4

    I believe you have misinterpreted the signage, along with new route numbers for roads like the parkway have come new VDOT signs. This particular one points the route to the McCoart Center, a castrated one points to the Gainesville Supervisor’s Office, a longer equine version (probably on a semi trailer) to the Brentsville Office and a limp one to the Coles District Supervisor.

    I want to say thank you to Neighborhood Services for working on getting this taken care of promptly. It is a most unusual situation since it’s mobile graffati. I do believe this will be gone.

    This could only be in Manassas!!

    Will the real dickhead please stand up?

  7. August 27th, 2012 at 10:22 | #7

    I have apparently been remiss in that I left out the sign pointing to Chairman’s office. That would be the small phallus at the bottom of a highball glass.

  9. August 27th, 2012 at 12:41 | #9

    I wish I could say it is unusual. It isn’t/

  10. August 27th, 2012 at 12:42 | #10

    Lafayette, please keep us apprised of the situation. People can’t cover their children’s eyes to drive down the street.

    Well, keep the grandkids off Strasburg. That bad boy is still there. It doesn’t look like anyone is living in the house.

    Oh, so it isn’t a gang symbol of 8=D.

    • August 27th, 2012 at 17:16 | #13

      I thought it was, Lyssa. I sat there for 5 minutes trying to figure out the gang symbol. Finally I gave up and decided it was a 2 handled shovel.

    @Cato the Elder
    LMAO. I saw this earlier today. Now, I’m thinking this might be the “IT” costume for the upcoming halloween season.

    @SlowpokeRodriguez
    My daughter reports that there’s an incomplete work of art similar to these more in Moon’s neck of the woods. Just missing the D. Honestly, can you imagine this sitting in front of one of your neighbor’s houses on a main drag to boot?

  17. August 27th, 2012 at 17:26 | #18

    @Cato the Elder

    Cato, that is freaking hilarious. Why haven’t I seen these V-ladies on TV? I hope they found bob McDonnell.

    I expect any one of those ladies could castrate the Weiner Wagon without flexing a muscle.

    @Lafayette
    What makes it so darn funny to me is how infantile the depiction is. I admit that I am easily amused.

    @SlowpokeRodriguez
    Beleive me, I found it amusing. It was funny to watch people drive by with a straight face. I had tears rolling down my face and I did see one car where the passenger quickly pointed to the truck. However, if though funny, it’s sure not something I wanting hangin’ out in the hood.

    err, even though funny…

  21. August 27th, 2012 at 18:25 | #22

    Not on the main buzz through street. I mean OMG!! The house has mowed grass. What’s the chance they are on vacation?

    The County needs to haul that bad boy away until its owner can get it cleaned up. If they need help, then help. Most insurance takes care of graffiti doesn’t it?

  22. August 27th, 2012 at 18:26 | #23

    How old is the artist? I would guess 5. That is really primative. I feel stupid that I didn’t recognize the obvious.

    @Lyssa
    We have street lights in WestGate. This is the very first block of WestGate where it backs upto Sudley(without street lights). Pretty well lit area.

    Lafayette, is the Weiner Wagon still there?

  33. Lafayette
    August 28th, 2012 at 09:21 | #36

    Haven’t been out yet today. I’ll report back when I go to the city. In all fairness, I do believe it will take a week or so, to get this taken care of completely. Just my two cents. It is a most unusual neighborhood issue.

  34. August 28th, 2012 at 09:49 | #37

    The county just needs to tow it away and put it on the county lot until the matter is resolved.

  35. Lafayette
    August 28th, 2012 at 10:19 | #38

    Oh, I don’t neccessarily agree with that. That is someone’s private property. I don’t think they(county) have the right to just go on the property and tow the vehicle. I want the hood to look decent, but I do respect one’s property rights.

    • August 28th, 2012 at 11:00 | #39

      Doesn’t the county have the right to remove all graffiti? I will have to think about it. I thought you said yesterday the house had no one living there. That had everything to do with my statement. If someone lives there….then that is another matter.

  36. Lafayette
    August 28th, 2012 at 11:08 | #40

    It appears as if no one is living there, but the yard is cut. Not that anyone has really need to fire a mower up around here, as dry as it’s been. The house was sold recently. Maybe, there are taking there time moving in. I do believe the county will contact the owner of the vehicle.
    It really seems to be a slippery slope.

    August 29th, 2012 at 08:31 | #41

    UPDATE: The reason the county can’t go take care of the graffiti on the box truck, like they can a fence, house, etc., is the truck is personal property, not private property. This is what’s making this tricky. Who knows this time of year, they may be on vacation.
