Officer Chris Yung, Rest in Peace.

End of watch means the officer died while on duty. It’s referred to as a Line of Duty Death.
Police Week is held annually in May to honor those killed in the line of
duty during the past year. Officer Yung will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial this May.
Officer Chris Yung is the third PWCPD officer to be killed in the line of duty. Officer Paul White was killed in an automobile accident in 1973, Officer Mike Pennington was killed by gunfire in 1990.

The end of watch is very haunting and a stark reminder of the dangers our officers are in on a daily basis.

Fair Winds and Following Seas Officer Yung. The world is a sadder place now that you are gone from us.
The citizens of Prince William can take pride in Officers like Chris Yung and in the professionalism and organization of the honors earned and given.
I was fortunate to meet Officer Yung in 2011. What a wonderful man. RIP.
