Senator Feinstein gets a lecture from Ted Cruz

March 15th, 2013

WARNING: Graphic simulations included regarding the Sandy Hook massacre.

Rachel Maddow reports on how much easier high capacity magazines made the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary.  She takes us step by step though the 5 minutes where 30 people are killed.

Ted Cruz has the audacity to speak down to Senator Dianne Feinstein.  Cruz is no stranger to rudeness.

Dianne Feinstein’s bill that includes high capacity magazine restrictions as well as restrictions on certain weapons was voted out of committee by Democrats.  No Republicans voted for her bill.

Cruz was rude? It was Feinstein that was condescending. Her answer that her bill exempts certain weapons, answers Cruz’s question. Her answer demonstrated that she does think that the 2nd Amendment is “different” and can be separated from the others. Maddow also goes to the “victim” argument stating idiocy about “hysteria” because she’s a woman. Where did Cruz mention any “hysteria?”

Feinstein lost that argument by demonstrating that she thinks that a bill does not prohibit weapons because it exempts other weapons….which, if they are exempted…means that she thinks they are a privilege and not a right. It is the duty of a Senator to uphold the spirit of the oath….not just put out bills and then depend upon the SCOTUS to uphold or deny them. It is her duty to defend the Constitution. Apparently, because she doesn’t like guns, she feels that she can prohibit them, allowing only the forces of government to control them. She may have been up close and personal with the Constitution, but she doesn’t seem to understand simple language.

(all below is quotes from the link)
Her list gets rid of the major semiauto guns in the country. It prohibits them.
Furthermore her so-called list is superseded by another section of her bill: http://www.ammoland.com/2013/01/every-gun-with-a-grip-is-banned/

    The law (if this passes):

“(36) The term ‘semiautomatic assault weapon’ means any of the following, regardless of country of manufacture or caliber of ammunition accepted:”
“(A) A semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any 1 of the following:”
    “(i) A pistol grip.”
“(46) The term ‘pistol grip’ means a grip, a thumb-hole stock, or any other characteristic that can function as a grip.”

[The same language is repeated for handguns and shotguns; magazine includes belt fed; also included: “Any combination of parts from which a firearm described in subparagraphs (A) through (K) can be assembled;”]

“(v)(1) It shall be unlawful for a person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer, or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a semiautomatic assault weapon.”

[All government agencies of every kind, including school officers, are excluded from all of this. In other words, they can have all the firearms you now own that Feinstein’s bill would outlaw for you. This means that rights you now have to own property would be stripped from you. That is rights denial, not crime prevention.]

Cruz made Feinstein look learning disabled. It’s about time someone pushed back against this Marxist harpy, we need 59 more Senators like him.
