A Maryland elementary school volunteer was charged with making child pornography on school grounds.

Deonte Carraway, 22, is accused of recording and directing children to perform sexual acts in various parts of the school, including the auditorium and bathrooms.

The 22-year-old aide at Judge Sylvian Woods Elementary School in Glenarden is also accused of abusing many of the children himself, NBC 4 Washington reported.

Carraway is charged with 10 counts of child pornography charges, one count of sex abuse of a minor and one count of second-degree sex offense.

This is old news.  There are now 14 victims.  A principal has been put on suspended leave.  Children have been harmed.  Officials say that there are potentially many other victims.

The shocking part of this story has just been released on TV.  Apparently Carraway has a record as a juvenile sex offender.  The records were sealed.  This practice must end.  Juvenile sex offenders become adult sex offenders.  These records must follow all offenders.

Anyone who has ever worked with juvenile sex offenders will tell you that this condition is not something they are going to grow out of.  The behavior continues.  I have even been told there is no cure.

We certainly don’t want someone with juvenile sex offender record anywhere near children, especially unsupervised.  This is a horrible situation.  IN my opinion, there are no juvenile rights to be protected.

Furthermore, has anyone seen his picture?  Who in their right mind would let their kid hang out with such a creep?

2 Thoughts to “Maryland child molester had juvenile sex offender record”

  1. Wolve

Unfortunately, it seems we are arriving at a time when an employer is no longer allowed to even ask an applicant about a criminal record. Unless someone is actually on the public list of sex offenders, one may be very handicapped in protecting kids.

    1. The employer can do a background check. Most do in fact.
